**********Contains Spoilers***********This was a great way to end this series so thanks Kiki, I’m looking forward to reading more series from the same universe. I thoroughly enjoyed this story. I loved the connection between Max and Berlin. Even though Max was kind of a ghost Berlin still recognised him more after a couple of meetings than pack mates that he’s known for years. Max chooses to reside in the shadows to try and keep his monsters at bay, as he was a h*tman. Berlin was forced into pr*stitution when he was nearly 18 years old as after his dad passed away his sister got cancer and his mum would need to work multiple Jobs to pay for her treatment so Berlin sold himself so they can go to Canada for treatment. Pete wouldn’t tell him where his family is in Canada and everytime Berlin either threatened to quit or Pete got an inkling that he was planning on it, Pete would give him letters and hand drawn pictures from mum and sister. His mum’s letter was always requesting more money for his sisters treatment so Berlin didn’t want to be the reason why his sister stays sick. It was heartbreaking when Berlin founds out the truth that Pete has no idea where his family is and he dropped them off in front of a hospital in British Columbia 2 years prior and was writing them himself and drawing the pictures with his left hand so Berlin had been doing something he completely hated for basically nothing. I loved how Brady and Caleb become friends with Berlin and Brady didn’t judge Berlin when he found out what his profession was. I loved how these two found their happily ever afters as if anyone deserves it, it’s these two as they obviously both have demons from their pasts that they can help each other through. I’d recommend this book, series and author to everyone. I've fallen in love with this cast of characters through these four books. I always love seeing them pop up in the other books of the series. Now that the series is complete I'm sad to see them go. I still have The Wolf's Mate series to read but I'm going to miss The Den.I love that Ms. Burrelli gives us these characters who can be tough to love at first,, like Max, until we get to know them a little bit and then suddenly we can't imagine how we ever lived without him. Any man who will run himself nearly to death for his mate is worth his weight in gold. Berlin is a lucky man. My heart ached for Berlin so many times in this book. I hated what he was forced to ensure at Pete's hand. And if I had my way, Pete would have gotten a great big taste of his own medicine. Just thinking about him gets me so angry. Ugh!But what I really loved about this book, other than Max's sweetness and protective alphaness, was how the pack becomes part of their family. Berlin's day with Brady and Caleb was great. I love seeing the pack members bonding and spending time together. It brings the story full circle for me.
